Medical personnel from the state-supported hospital in Rosario del Ingre visit all the Guaraní communities once a month. They weigh, measure, and check up on the youngest kids, and usually present a brief lecture on some aspect of childcare.
The guy measuring little Reinelda is Don Julian Cerezo. He works for the hospital, but he's from Imi (or at least, his mom lives here). His main job is translation, but he did receive basic nursing training a few years ago. (It's said there isn't a single Guaraní doctor --or lawyer-- in the country.)
