A fairly reliable brook winds through Imi (it isn't the spring mentioned earlier, but it never went dry while I lived there). In this respect the community is luckier than most in the area. Unless it's been raining, the water is sparkling clear, and after hard work on a hot day (most days in Imi are hot, and most of the work is hard) it's a welcome sight.
On the other hand, being the main source of water means that besides drinking from it, we humans use it for washing our clothes, our dishes, and ourselves, while the four-legged members of the community (pigs, goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, and cattle, etc) use it for cooling off and their own ablutions. It's pretty, but not potable.
