The first Guaraní in our part of the world most likely came from what is now Paraguay or Brazil, in the early 15th century, not long before the arrival of the conquistadors. They were probably pilgrims, looking for a "land without evil" that was part of their oral tradition. The same search took other Guaraní as far north as Venezuela, and deep into Argentina.
